The Botanist is a super-premium Islay dry gin produced using a slow 17-hour distillation in a modified 11,600-liter copper Lomond pot still. The recipe features 31 botanicals: 9 core ingredients including juniper, coriander, cinnamon, cassia, angelica root, orris root, liquorice root, orange peel, and lemon peel, plus 22 hand-foraged Islay herbs and florals including apple mint, birch leaves, bog myrtle, chamomile, creeping thistle, elderflower, gorse, heather, hawthorn, lady's bedstraw, lemon balm, meadowsweet, mugwort, peppermint, red clover, sweet cicely, tansy, thyme, water mint, white clover, wood sage, and downy birch. Bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Flavor profile features pine-juniper, coriander, citrus zest, mountain wildflowers, chamomile, water mint, apple mint, honeyed heather, coastal salinity, spearmint, wintergreen, wood sage, and vanilla cream.
