The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for a minimum of 12 years using a dual-cask sequential maturation technique pioneered by Master Blender David C. Stewart MBE. It spends at least 12 years in traditional American oak ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads before being transferred to first-fill Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry butts for an additional 9 to 12 months. Following the sherry cask finish, the liquid is transferred into dedicated large oak vessels called tuns for 3 to 4 months to allow integration. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Flavor profile features rich honey, sweet vanilla cream, bright fruit, Oloroso sherry spice, orange zest, maltiness, dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted nuts, and spiced oak.
