Aberlour 12 Years Old Double Cask Matured

Aberlour 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for a minimum of 12 years using a dual maturation technique where the new-make spirit is parallelly aged in two separate wood profiles—first-fill ex-American oak bourbon barrels and seasoned Spanish Oloroso sherry butts—for the full 12 years before being married together. Distillation features exceptionally slow spirit runs averaging 7.5 hours per batch in wide copper pot stills. Water is sourced locally from Birkenbush Springs near Ben Rinnes. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Flavor profile features golden honey, ripe pears, red apples, vanilla toffee, sherried character, tangy orange, milk chocolate, liquorice, toasted almond, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
