The most robust, deeply complex, and full-flavoured variant in the Guinness lineup. Originally created by Arthur Guinness II in 1801 as "West India Porter," intentionally brewed with extra hops and higher alcohol content to naturally preserve the beer during grueling 4-to-5-week sea voyages to tropical climates. Today accounts for nearly 45% of all Guinness sales worldwide. Top-fermented ale using the proprietary historic Guinness yeast strain. Brewed with water, malted barley, flaked barley, roasted barley, high-alpha hops, and historic Guinness yeast. Bottled at 7.5% ABV in 330ml size. 47 to 65 IBU. Features impenetrable opaque pitch-black liquid topped by thick rocky long-lasting espresso-tan frothy head.
