Brand History
Glenfiddich 22 Year Old Gran Cortes is produced by William Grant & Sons Ltd., one of the world's oldest independent family-owned spirit producers headquartered in Ballindalloch, Speyside, Scotland. The Glenfiddich distillery was founded in 1887 by William Grant on the banks of the River Fiddich in Speyside, Scotland, and remains family-owned to the present day. Glenfiddich has become the world's best-selling single malt Scotch whisky, known for pioneering the commercial success of single malt whiskies through consistent quality, innovation, and global distribution. Gran Cortes was released as part of Glenfiddich's Grand Series—a collection of premium, limited-edition expressions featuring innovative cask maturation techniques and finishes. The name "Gran Cortes" means "great palaces" in Spanish, honouring the historic royal courts of Andalucía, Spain, where the rare Palo Cortado sherry casks are traditionally produced.
