Ballantine’s began in 1827 when George Ballantine started blending in Edinburgh before expanding to Glasgow; the firm grew under George Jr., later selling to Hiram Walker in 1937 and today sits within Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers portfolio. The flagship “Finest” blend was launched in 1910 and has since become one of the world’s most recognized no-age-statement Scotch blends.
