Product Story & Guide
Brand History:
Chartreuse Green Liqueur originates from the 17th century, made by the Carthusian monks at the Grande Chartreuse monastery near Grenoble, France. Its recipe is based on an ancient manuscript, known as "The Elixir of Long Life," gifted to the monks in 1605 by François-Annibal d'Estrées, a marshal under King Henry IV. The formula was developed and perfected into the liqueur in 1737. The Green Chartreuse was introduced in 1764 as a milder, aromatic herbal liqueur from this original medicinal elixir.
