Brand History: Tanqueray London Dry Gin was founded in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray in London, England. Charles started with a small distillery in Bloomsbury, experimenting with botanicals until he perfected the now iconic London Dry recipe including juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and liquorice. The brand has survived historic challenges like the WWII bombing destroying the original distillery (only one still, “Old Tom,” survived) and has grown to be one of the world’s leading gin brands.
