Brand History:
Cointreau was created in 1875 by Édouard Cointreau in Angers, France. The Cointreau family's origins date back to 1849 when they operated a confectionery and distillery. Édouard innovated by developing a unique method to distill sweet and bitter orange peels to create a crystal-clear orange liqueur, distinct in flavor and appearance from the colored curaçaos of the time. The iconic square bottle reflects the purity and balance of the liqueur.
