Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey

Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey, affectionately referred to as the White Label, is the foundational cornerstone of the Old Bushmills Distillery portfolio. While most entry-level blended Irish whiskeys rely heavily on budget column-distilled corn grains, Bushmills Original distinguishes itself by packing a significantly higher percentage of premium aged single malt into its base recipe, which has remained largely unchanged since 1888. Formulated with 45% Single Malt Whiskey and 55% Single Grain Whiskey, with the malt component made using 100% Irish malted barley, 100% unpeated, and triple-distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The grain component is distilled from corn using continuous column stills. The component whiskeys are matured separately in charred American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, with a smaller portion of the malt resting in Spanish European oak ex-Oloroso Sherry casks. Chill-filtered with natural caramel coloring (E150a). No age statement, but aged a minimum of 3 years with grain whiskey elements routinely matured for up to 5 years. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 Proof) in 700ml size. Features light pale straw-gold color.
