This whisky is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks for around 10 years, then finished for an extended period (now 4 years) in ruby port casks from Portugal. The port cask finish adds rich red fruit sweetness and a complex dessert-like character.
Nose:Â Fruity with notes of jammy red berries, vanilla, milk chocolate, raisins, and rosewater.
Palate:Â Rich and smooth, with flavors of dark orange peel, toffee, chocolate, berries, and gentle spices including cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish:Â Medium to long, warming with lingering sweet spices, mixed fruits, and a touch of oak.
