Tasting Notes

AromaSweet, powerful; heavy caramel, dark chocolate, rich vanilla baking essence, black molasses, muscovado sugar, cinnamon, cloves.

PalateUnctuous, full-bodied; sweet coffee, cocoa biscuits, dark chocolate, burnt sugar, expressive rough spice from oak.

FinishMedium-to-short, smooth, warming; sticky lingering toffee, licorice, soft wood smoke.

Product Story & Guide

100% high-grade sugarcane molasses. Column still distillation. Matured minimum 7 years in oak casks (traditionally ex-sherry casks) under intense Indian climate, then vatted. Launched December 19, 1954. No advertising; relies on word-of-mouth. Bottled at 42.8% ABV. Available in 750 ml glass/PET bottles. Deep dark mahogany-bronze appearance with heavy viscous legs.
