Akashi Red Blended Japanese Whisky

Akashi Red Blended Whisky is produced at Eigashima Distillery in Akashi City, the only distillery in Japan situated next to the sea, using smaller copper pot stills than traditional Scottish formats. The whisky undergoes multi-cask maturation: aged in American White Oak Shochu casks for 2 years, continued in ex-bourbon casks, and finished in ex-sherry casks for 1 year. The spirit is formulated by a Toji (grandmaster sake maker), applying traditional sake-making methodologies to distillation. Bottled at 40% ABV in a 500ml bottle. Flavor profile features vanilla, honey, apricot, stone fruit, dried fruit, chestnuts, spicy oak, salted caramel, and marine saltiness.
