It is created using a selection of casks matured in refill and toasted American oak, emphasising a bold flavour profile with increased peat, smoke, brine, and spice compared with some of Talisker’s age‑statement releases. The whisky is typically bottled at 45.8% ABV, maintaining robust character and coastal influence.

Tasting Notes

Aroma:
In my tastings, Talisker Storm offers a smoky nose with maritime sea spray, brine, light citrus, sweet malt and peppery spice. There are layers of campfire smoke with hints of oak and subtle sweetness underlying the intense coastal character.

Palate:
I find the palate rich and full‑flavoured, with bold peat smoke, peppery heat, salty brine, and a touch of dried fruit. There are elements of toasted oak and gentle sweetness, balanced by campfire‑like smoke and a peppery kick that persists through the mid‑palate.

Finish:
The finish is medium to long, warming and smoky with lingering pepper, oak tannins, and a faint citrus brightness. The salted‑sea influence remains perceptible through the end.

Balance, Complexity:
Talisker Storm has a balanced integration of smoke, brine, and spice. The profile is bolder and more intense than some of the core age‑statement whiskies, with peat and maritime elements harmonised against oak and dried fruit character, giving moderate to elevated complexity for a no‑age‑statement expression.
