Product Description

Gran Centenario Reposado is produced exclusively from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico’s appellation-controlled tequila region, with agave plants typically aged 10–12 years, more mature than the standard 6-year average. The agave is hand-selected, slowly cooked, crushed, and fermented before undergoing double distillation using traditional methods in copper pot stills. The spirit is then rested in new American oak barrels for approximately 6–11 months (falling within the legal reposado definition of 2–11 months maturation), resulting in a golden colour and balanced integration of oak-derived and agave-forward flavour compounds. This aging period mellows the spirit while developing complexity beyond unaged blanco expressions while preserving more vibrancy than fully-aged añejo tequilas.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: In my tastings, I find the aroma shows cooked agave sweetness, with light wood and fruit notes, along with hints of toasted almonds, vanilla and subtle oak undertones.

Palate: On the palate, the tequila is medium‑bodied and smooth. The cooked agave character stands out initially, followed by oak‑driven warmth, toasted nuts or almonds, light vanilla and mild clove or spice — giving it a soft but layered feel.

Finish: The finish is long and mellow, with lingering oak, gentle agave sweetness, subtle vanilla or nut notes, and mild peppery or spicy undertones.
