Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). It uses a high-rye mash bill of approximately 68% corn, 28% rye, and 4% malted barley, creating a spicier profile than corn-heavy bourbons. The bourbon is aged for a minimum of six years in new charred American oak barrels and filtered through Kentucky limestone before bottling. The high rye content and charred barrel aging create a drier, more complex spirit with pronounced oak and spice characteristics. It is bottled without chill filtration, allowing natural oils and flavors to remain.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Rye spice with notes of cinnamon and clove leading to oak, vanilla, and hints of dried orange peel.

Palate: Bold rye spice dominates with layers of vanilla, oak tannins, and apple sweetness balancing the spice. Toasted grain and warming spices develop through the mid-palate.

Finish: Lingering rye spice and warm oak with a touch of vanilla sweetness fading gradually.
