Description
Black Velvet is a Canadian whisky brand dating back to the late 1940s, originally developed by master distiller Jack Napier and first released around 1951. The brand, formerly called “Black Label,” took the Black Velvet name to reflect its velvety smooth taste and has changed ownership multiple times, most recently being acquired by Heaven Hill from Constellation Brands in 2019; production is at the Black Velvet Distillery in Lethbridge, Alberta.
