Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a non‑age‑statement Islay single malt Scotch whisky bottled at a high strength of 57.1% ABV. It gains its name from the powerful Corryvreckan whirlpool off the coast of Scotland. The whisky is matured primarily in American oak and French oak casks, delivering a bold, peaty and intense spirit profile that reflects traditional Islay style.

Tasting Notes

• Aroma:
  In my tastings, I find intense peat smoke with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and hints of citrus and sea salt.

• Palate:
  The palate is robust with rich peat smoke, peppery spice, dark fruit and subtle vanilla undertones.

• Finish:
  The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, oak spice and a hint of brine.

Balance, Complexity

In my tastings, Ardbeg Corryvreckan shows a strong balance between its peat‑driven intensity and oak‑derived sweetness. The interplay of smoke, spice, and dark fruit notes creates layered complexity without overwhelming the palate.
