Product Story & Guide
Cantine Povero Barbera d'Asti is a red wine from the Barbera d'Asti DOCG appellation, produced by Cantine Povero from 100% Barbera sourced from sustainably farmed hillside vineyards in Asti and Alessandria with yields of 8,500 kg/ha. Hand-picked grapes are destemmed and fermented on skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 28-30°C for 6-8 days, with malolactic fermentation completed at 20°C. The wine is aged for 6 months exclusively in stainless steel tanks without oak. Bottled at 12.5-13% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The profile is medium-bodied and juicy with sour cherry, plum, and violet notes.
