The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in a marriage of American oak Oloroso sherry casks and European oak Oloroso sherry casks. Produced using curiously small, low-slung pot stills. Natural color, no added caramel coloring. Unpeated. ABV is typically 40% (43% in select markets including North America). Standard bottle sizes are 700ml or 750ml depending on market.
