Periquita Tinto is a Portuguese red wine from José Maria da Fonseca, crafted from a blend of Castelão, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bouschet. It is fermented on full skin contact for 4 days at 28°C in stainless steel tanks, then aged 6 months in French oak barrels. It is bottled at 13% ABV with 5.3 g/L acidity and 3.58 pH, available in 750ml size. It holds the title of Portugal's first bottled table wine (1850). The flavour profile features ripe blueberries, wild blackberries, black plums, vanilla, forest pine, woody spice, fresh red berries, juicy cherries, and herbal nuances.
