Product Story & Guide
Antinori Tignanello is a red wine from the Toscana IGT appellation, produced by Marchesi Antinori from 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc sourced from the single 77-hectare Tignanello vineyard at 350-400 meters elevation on alberese limestone, marl, and schist soils with southwest exposure. Hand-picked blocks are fermented separately in truncated conical stainless steel tanks with careful skin maceration, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is aged for 14-15 months in French and Hungarian oak barriques (partly new, partly second-use), blended, then returned to barrel for integration, followed by 12 months bottle aging. Bottled at 13.5-14.5% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Only produced in favorable vintages. The profile is rich and velvety with sour cherry, blackberry, and dark chocolate notes.
