Amaro Montenegro

Amaro Montenegro is an Italian herbal liqueur created in 1885 by Stanislao Cobianchi in Bologna, Italy. It is crafted from a secret blend of 40 botanicals including orange peels, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, marjoram, oregano, and four varieties of Artemisia. The production process uses boiling, maceration, and copper pot micro-distillation to create 12 "mother essences" combined into 6 primary flavor profiles. The liqueur is presented at 23% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The flavor profile features orange zest, mandarin candy, cola cubes, coriander, rose, vanilla, incense, honeyed orange, black tea, cherry compote, nutmeg, cinnamon, root beer, wormwood, clove, and white pepper.
