Brand History
Tres Generaciones was founded in 1973 by Don Francisco Javier Sauza—the third-generation tequila pioneer—as a revolutionary expression honoring 100 years and three generations of Sauza family tequila mastery. Don Francisco, recognized as the first global ambassador of tequila, carefully crafted Tres Generaciones as a small-batch tequila celebrating the Sauza family legacy: Don Cenobio (1873, founder of La Perseverancia distillery and first to export tequila to the US), Don Eladio (1903, expanded the business and defended the "Tequila" denomination internationally), and Don Francisco Javier (1946–1973, created the modern tequila category and its global positioning). Tres Generaciones Añejo holds the historic distinction of being rumored to be the first Añejo tequila ever produced, predating the official recognition of the Añejo category by decades. With 50 years of unbroken heritage since 1973, Tres Generaciones remains a testament to three generations of visionary tequila craftsmanship and has become one of the world's most respected premium aged tequila brands, currently produced under Beam Suntory's stewardship (acquired 2005).
