Patrón was established in 1989 by founder John Paul DeJoria, revolutionizing the tequila category with the introduction of Patrón Silver—recognized as the world's first super-premium silver tequila. This groundbreaking expression elevated tequila from a commodity spirit to an ultra-premium category by introducing uncompromising standards: 100% Blue Weber Agave (never mixto), handcrafted production with approximately 60 hands involved from harvesting through bottling, individual hand-numbering of every bottle, and traditional Hacienda Patrón distillery methods. Under Master Distiller David Rodríguez García, Patrón Silver remains the gold standard against which all super-premium blanco tequilas are measured globally.
