Product Story & Guide
Bowmore 12 Year Old Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the flagship expression from Islay's oldest licensed distillery, founded in 1779. It is widely celebrated as an accessible entry point to peated Scotch, striking a distinct balance between coastal smoke and sweet fruit rather than acting as a full-throttle peat bomb. Made from 100% malted barley, with roughly 25% of the barley floor-malted traditionally at the distillery. The barley is smoked over peat fires for roughly 10 hours, resulting in a phenol specification of 25 to 30 PPM, notably milder than south-shore Islay distilleries. Water is sourced from the Laggan River, which flows through local peat lands. Fermentation is conducted in traditional Douglas fir washbacks for approximately 70 hours. Double-distilled using copper pot stills. A married vatting of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak Oloroso Sherry casks, aged a minimum of 12 years in stone warehouses hugging the edge of Loch Indaal, with a portion resting in the legendary No. 1 Vaults below sea level. Chill-filtered with caramel coloring. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 Proof) in 750ml size. Features delicate pale amber gold color.
The latest price of Bowmore 12 YO Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky in Hyderabad is approximately ₹6190. Please note that actual retail prices may vary slightly across licensed vends and government outlets depending on local state excise taxes.
