Black Bottle Original Blended Scotch Whisky

Black Bottle Original Blended Scotch Whisky is a highly distinctive award-winning spirit originally created by the three Graham brothers (Gordon, Charles, and David) in Aberdeen, Scotland, back in 1879. The blend historically included malts from all Islay distilleries, and its current modern configuration relies heavily on peated Islay malts, specifically the heavy smoky Moine expression from the Bunnahabhain Distillery, balanced out by unpeated Speyside and mainland malts. The liquid is aged in a combination of virgin oak casks for intense vanilla and coconut sweetness and heavily charred alligator-skin casks which caramelize the sugars in the wood. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 Proof) in most international markets, with select versions at 43%, in 700ml size. Features rich amber gold color. It literally gets its name from the distinctive opaque black glass bottle, restored in a 2013 relaunch inspired by the 1879 bottle.
