Brand History
Dalmore Distillery was founded in 1839 by Alexander Matheson in Alness, Highlands of Scotland, on the banks of the Cromarty Firth approximately 20 miles north of Inverness. The distillery’s name derives from the Gaelic “dal mor,” meaning “big field.” Dalmore was established during Scotland’s golden age of whisky production and became known for innovative multi-cask maturation approaches.
