Product Description
Jim Beam Bonded Bourbon is made from the classic Jim Beam recipe, using a mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof), in compliance with the Bottled-in-Bond Act, which also requires that the bourbon be aged for at least four years and produced in a single distillation season by one distiller. The result is a higher-proof bourbon that retains the smooth character and rich flavors Jim Beam is known for.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: In my tastings, Jim Beam Bonded presents a rich aroma with notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak. The bourbon has a slight hint of spice from the rye, with underlying traces of dried fruit and light woodiness that add depth to the overall bouquet.
Palate: The palate is full-bodied, with a bold, slightly spicy profile. The caramel and vanilla sweetness are balanced by strong oak and a touch of rye spice. I also detect traces of dried fruit, dark sugar, and toasted nuts, giving the bourbon a rich, complex mouthfeel. The higher proof brings a warmth that complements the wood and spice notes.
Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering oak, mild spice, and a touch of sweetness from the caramel. The higher alcohol content leaves a slightly dry, but smooth, aftertaste that carries the bourbon’s wood and spice character.
