Description
Black Bottle was introduced in 1879 by the Graham brothers of Aberdeen, who were tea blenders before moving into whisky; the name came from its original German-made black glass bottle, replaced during WWI when black glass became unavailable. The blend has passed through several owners, including Highland Distilleries and Burn Stewart, and was relaunched in 2013 with a recipe shift away from an Islay-centric style to reconnect with its north-east roots.
