Description
Aultmore Distillery was founded in 1895–1897 by Alexander Edward near Keith, Moray, taking its name from the Gaelic “An t-Allt Mòr,” meaning “big burn,” referencing its water source, the Auchinderran Burn in the Foggie Moss. The distillery changed hands multiple times, was rebuilt in 1970–71, and returned to Dewar’s (Bacardi) ownership in 1998, with the modern 12-year-old official bottling relaunched as part of Dewar’s “Last Great Malts” range in 2014.
