Caskmates began as a bar‑room collaboration between Jameson’s Head of Whiskey Science and the team at Cork’s Franciscan Well Brewery, who swapped barrels so stout could age in ex‑Jameson casks and the whiskey could then finish in the stout‑seasoned wood.
The first release, Stout Edition, proved the concept, and the range later added an IPA Edition that marries hoppy brightness with Jameson’s smooth pot‑still and grain blend.
