Fortaleza Blanco is an unaged, small-batch tequila made from 100% stone-crushed Blue Weber Agave. The production process is rigorously traditional: agave piñas are slow-cooked in a century-old brick oven for 36 hours, then crushed by a two-ton volcanic stone wheel (tahona). The juice is fermented in open-air wood tanks using natural yeast and double-distilled in small copper pot stills. It is bottled in hand-blown glass with a signature agave piña stopper, showcasing its premium, handcrafted nature.

Tasting Notes

Aroma
Rich aromas of baked agave, green olive, and earth, accompanied by bright citrus zest and a touch of butter.

Palate
The palate is oily and complex, featuring distinct flavors of cooked agave, vanilla, basil, lime, and black pepper.

Finish
Long, deep, and vegetal with a lingering peppery spice and earthy undertones. In my tastings, the “olive brine” note stands out as a signature characteristic that separates Fortaleza from almost any other blanco on the market.
