Aberlour 12 YO Double Cask Single Malt Whisky

Aberlour 12 Double Cask is matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of traditional American oak barrels and seasoned sherry butts, then married for balance. This dual maturation brings honeyed sweetness, orchard fruit, and vanilla from bourbon casks together with richer dried fruits, chocolate, and gentle spice from sherry wood for a rounded, approachable profile at 40% ABV.

Tasting notes

• Nose: Red apples and honey with raisins, vanilla, caramel and milk chocolate, plus touches of plum, figs, and lemon zest.

• Palate: Sweet blackberries and honey layered with raisins, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg, with biscuity malt and sherried chocolate tones.

• Finish: Medium to somewhat short, with lingering vanilla, honey, nutmeg, and gentle oak-spiced dried fruit.
